SAFESPUR

About

Although now independent of SAFEGROUNDS+, the SAFESPUR Forum was originally set up by the SAFEGROUNDS and SD:SPUR Learning Networks to promote good practice on nuclear and defence sites.

Its original purpose was to help contractors and consultants maintain an awareness of the SAFEGROUNDS and SD:SPUR programmes and provide insights into the good practice sought by clients.

Initiallly, membership was limited to contractors and consultants involved or interested in work supporting MOD and/or NDA Tier 1 contractors. The group is of interest to all parts of the nuclear and defence supply and project management chains.

Over time, the SAFESPUR programme ocassionally considered topics beyond the scope of SAFEGROUNDS and SD:SPUR.

An Advisory Group was established in 2012 and the network re-branded to signify its broader remit.
